Who we are
MakeBackup is a Shopify app. Support: support@oskivo.com.
What we store
When a merchant installs MakeBackup we store the shop domain, whether the shop is a development store, the chosen plan, and Shopify subscription status. Each snapshot stores catalogue and online-store content the merchant asks us to back up: products and variants (including options, media URLs, SEO, tags, status, metafields, inventory tracking, and quantities), collections and their sort order, navigation menus, pages, blogs, articles, and URL redirects.
We do not request or store orders, customers, customer email addresses, or payment details.
Why
We store that content so the merchant can restore an item, export a snapshot, and see what changed. The lawful basis is contract: the merchant installed the app and approved the subscription.
How long
Nightly snapshots are kept for the retention period shown in the app (30 days unless the merchant changes it, between 7 and 90 days). The newest successful snapshot is kept even if it is older than that window.
If the merchant uninstalls, access tokens are deleted immediately. Snapshots are kept for 30 days so the app can be reinstalled and the store recovered, then they are deleted. Shopify's shop/redact webhook deletes everything for that shop immediately.
Customer privacy webhooks
customers/data_request and customers/redact are implemented. MakeBackup has no customer records to return or delete.
Where it is hosted
The app and its Postgres database run on Render. Shopify stores the charge and sends the content we back up through the Admin API. We do not sell store data.
Requests
Merchants can export a snapshot from the app, and can ask for deletion by uninstalling or by emailing support@oskivo.com. UK GDPR requests can be sent to the same address. You can also complain to the ICO.
